Workplace Relations Advocacy Course
The IRSWA is pleased to announce that, with the support of UWA Business School, it will host the ALERA Industrial Advocacy Program in Perth from Friday 28 March 2014 to Sunday 30 March 2014.
The course objectives are to:
- Provide a skills based program which exposes participants to the principles and practices of advocacy in the Fair Work Commission.
- Provide participants with an opportunity to improve thier knowledge and skills of advocacy within the Fair Work Commission with the supervision and support of experienced advocates and Tribunal members.
The course is designed to cater for a range of experience levels from those who have never engaged in formal advocacy to those who are experienced but wish to hone their skills.
The course will be delivered by former Senior Deputy President Brian Lacy and renowned industrial barrister Chris O'Grady of the Melbourne Bar together with a range of experienced advocates and current members of the Fair Work Commission who will work with particpants in the workshop sessions.
The course will be conducted over three full days. On Friday 28 March 2014 the theory component of the course will be delivered at UWA Business School. On Saturday 29 March 2014 and Sunday 30 March 2014 skill workshops (moots) will be held in the courts at Fair Work Australia. Certificates will be presented to participants at a function on Sunday evening following the conclusion of the course.
The registration fee includes detailed course materials, three full days of learning, morning/afternoon tea and lunch on each day and a function on Sunday evening.
Places are strictly limited and will not allocated until full payment is recieved by IRSWA. Applicants will recieve an automatically generated confirmation that their registration has been recieved when they register online. Confirmation of acceptance on the course will be provided seperately with a prelimary reading list. If you do not recieve the confirmation of acceptance and preliminary reading list within 7 days of registration please contact email@example.com No refunds will be given for cancellations 7 or less days before the course commences however the IRSWA may permit transfers of registrations at its discretion.

Course participants are invited to join us for a presentation ceremony and networking function from 5pm - 6.30pm on Sunday 30 March 2014
